I have been wracking my brain (WHATS LEFT OF IT) for a topic to put on this forum.
Then I remember seeing a programme asking the question on who owns Britain, there was some question on the ownership of common land. As Marlborough has a large common I would like to know who owns it?, and could it ever be fenced off? This also got me thinking about the ownership of the town. Who are the institutions that own the town. I beleive that Oxford University owns what was the old Post Office, so who owns what else, the library?
I know a lot of the smaller shops are owned by large money making ventures from outside the area ....and Marlborough being what it is the rents are out of this world.....thats why you wont find "normal shops" here for everyday things

If you are genuinely interested why don't you submit questions to Land Registery? They have a good website where you can download forms - alternatively ask the Local Information Point - they have loads of information about that sort of thing. 01672 511913
