All Out War With The Chavs At The Car Park

Nobody dare tell me that the youths that hang around down at waitrose car park are nice and helpful.

Dad went to pick up my brother, went across the bridge and some nice helpful youth threw an egg at his windscreen.

So-whoever it was that said it-how do you see them as innocent people who dont cause damage?

Is egging a car really not damage? and how come the police say that most of their calls are complaints about the youths down there and that they cause so much trouble it is unbelivable???

Where have you been? Because they are not nice young innocent youths.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt....and tonight I had an egg thrown at and landing on the windscreen of my car ......thats it...... all out war ......... I will do everything in my power to make life as uncomforable as possible for any person who hangs about down there ....I think the idea of giving them the old TIC centre is ludicrous and will do all I can to stop that .....it is no use moaning now, YOU have prooved me right...and must expect everthing to made awkward from now on.

Who else has had stuff thrown at their car.....suffered abuse or been threatened....I need all the amunition I can get before I start a campain

As it was pitch black and I had my headlights on....also no details are given on here as to who people are. I very much doubt it,

So would that make it ok would it ....not very clever to mark yourself down in the childish immature category, also confirms everything I have said previously.....break the law, make a nuisance of themselves and then expect everything given to them,   well I have got news for you/them life is a bitch and if you rub people up the wrong way expect manure to fall from a great height,

They have picked on the wrong person ....I never give up

"not very clever to mark yourself down in the childish immature category"just to inform you!!! I DO NOT HANG ABOUT DOWN WAITEROSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am not childish nor immature! and i agree that the egg is taking the piss (excuse me for my french)

i think you will find that the older people from waiterose have "moved on" just leaving the younger ones!! so it is a bit ignorant of you to accuse everyone who is classed from waiterose!! you shouldnt punish the majourity for the minoritys missbehaviour! and before you say you are not! you are by saying you will do anything in your power to stop the idea of the TIC centre.!!!

the people who care about getting somewhere to go have moved away from waiterose!as to not mess up the idea... they have acted responsibly, do you not agree??  it is just a couple of the people down waiterose that are still there and like causing problems eg.. the egg!

one more thing, stop with the cheap insults and get a little bit more literate.

Before the egg incident I was prepared to take a step back and maybe even support the TIC idea .......but not any more....if you want someone to blame i suggest you take up your grievances with the person doing the throwing.
Eggs aren't the innocent things they are taken for, they can and do scratch windscreens and paintwork...and it takes ages to wash it off (one and a half hours in the dark and rain )

The Youth centre could easily accommodate all your needs by having staged opening ...say 18.00 to 20.30 for 10 to 15 year olds and 21.30 to 23.30 for 16 to 20 year olds or something similar, and there is no reason why the centre cant be open most nights...after all, indirectly I am paying a lot of money for someone to be there.

The TIC is not and will not be a permanant meeting place, as soon as the Riverbank theatre is started the TIC will be demolished to make way for it. (I believe next year).

As the Riverbank is one of my all time pet hates we wont go there...... but can you see gangs of youths being tolerated outside the theatre for very long?

Not a problem.......

p.s. Waitrose not Waiterose..............and they are not happy about the gangs ...it's affecting their business and staff and they are pushing the powers that be very hard to get it sorted

like i said.... I DO NOT HANG OUT DOWN WAITROSE! and as for the miss spelling i have dyslexia; of that i have lernt to cope with, so one spelling mistake isnt bad.

i dont understand why you keep saying "you" this and "you" that, as if i need somewhere to go! like the youth centre!!!!!! i am 18 years old and am quite able of spending my time doing something more useful, like college work for example!!! (grade a student may i add, so not as stupid as you may think)

i found out who threw the egg and have told everyone that because of there stupidity and childish vandalism behaviour that now the idea of the TIC is probably going to be rejected! And they went mental at the person of whom did it!

it seems that you have started digging at me as if i was one of the people who hang out down waitrose, well i am not i just believe that everyone should be given a chance!!

i am beginning to see what is wrong with the world now! no wonder there is wars and so on... no one willing to listen, and no one willing to help! and when someone does try to help it gets thrown back in their face!!!!!

In that case you are doing well and I appologise ....I know how dyslexia can affect lives

I am trying to aim my comments at the few people who are involved as well (and may be on here but haven't got the courage to join in,) so I also apologise if it seems that way

I don't want to know the persons name but at a guess I would say they were around 10 - 12 years old.......If their name could be passed on to John or Emma so they can give them a warning I would be grateful.
I think I may have been the only person who stopped after being egged,  judging by the way they ran, I would say they where a little scared that someone had the nerve to do that with 20 to 30 scary youths around...but I have no issues with the others and told John (police)so when he arrived

I have no idea who people are on this forum so I can only guess at it and I do get things wrong now and again

Snap..............I was willing to stand back and even offer help....but the same as you, it got thrown back in my face ...literally.

Thing is the people doing the damage and causing the hassle just dont realise how much it is costing......the police have far better things to do than hang around ..they don't come for free .....someone has to clean up the mess in and around the toilets each morning....more mess ...the longer it takes= more pay- more money on your council or income tax..........just say for instance the egg had damaged my windscreen...I claim off of the insurance ...my insurance goes up but so does everybody elses...and they will all be moaning about the price of insurance for their first car........indirectly they are causing the high prices.....bit of a own goal really

Hello - looks like war has broken out whilst I've been busy doing other things!  Now, if anyone is still reading this subject - who is young and therefore has a valid opinion - can you please tell me..............

If someone in Marlborough could wave a magic wand and give the youngsters what they wanted - what would it be?

Where, if you had real choice, would you go?

What, if you had choice, would you do when you got there?

When would you wish to go there?

I'm interested to hear your views - I'm not a councillor, nor anything to do with the Youth service or the Police or any other organisation.  I'm just a person who lives in Marlborough who is genuinely interested in finding ways to make this town a better place to live for EVERYONE - that means young, middle aged and old.  What I want you to bear in mind is that we were once all young - and like you - fed up with older people.  There is only one thing that is very sure in this life, if you don't die young you are going to end up being an old person so think very carefuly about what you want and how it might fit in.

I look forward to hearing from you - and NO, I'm not a member of any church either!

Cheers

Angel

Just recieved this by e-mail.......explains it all really

Believe it or not these kids are ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder). Boy do I wish I was making that up but it is a recognised condition and, I expect, the next one to take over - in two years time it'll be all over the media like ADD/ADHD is now.

In a nutshell the minority of kids have listened to only one thing in school - their rights. They know you can't touch them and that the while the police may try the CPS will often go for a caution. They try it on with everyone and it's society as a whole that pays. Personally I hate to think what things will be like in 20 years time if, as a society, we don't turn things around.

Some kids like to go against the system (it seems like more than ever before because they know the teachers cannot do anything to them). It's amazing how much time is lost in a standard classroom to things like "sit down", "are you chewing?", "put the pen down and listen", "LISTEN!" etc

Some of the kids who do this sort of thing that this thread is about are the sort who just want to get out of the family home but don't seem to organise themselves well enough to arrange to do something else or who can't afford to do anything.

I suppose the real question is how can we instill the respect in children that we had 5 or 10 years ago (let alone 50 years ago)?
The answer is not easily. Teachers need to be supported by parents, government and society but in many ways teachers should be a back up - it's down to the parents to teach the difference between right and wrong at an early stage.

I think that it is unfair that you think that all  of the people who go down waitrose carpark are bad people me myself occasionly go down waitrose and the majority of my friends go down there to meet up chat ect the people who cause trouble are only the minority because they are kids and are acting like kids im not saying that everyone down there are angels but not every adult is an angel i dont like given a stereotype when i have done nothing wrong exept meet up with my friends.
