charles and camilla - didn't they do well!!

well after all these years they finally tied the knot! - they must be the happiest couple in christiandom right now!

Here's how I see it all!

1. Charles has always been in love with Camilla from his young man days, but of course couldn't marry her - she was already married

2. Pressure was put on him to marry anyway and produce heirs to the throne

3. There was a short list and Dianne was seen as the best choice

4. They married and had kids - mission accomplished, but he still loved Camilla!

5. The marriage deteriorated as many do! - they eventually separated and Di started having flings and relationships herself (fair enough)

6. Di fell in love with Dodi and then ran off together

7. A faulty car and/or driver killed them both, not Prince Charles or the royal family

8. Charles's sons have accepted his new marriage and his need for a new life and wife

So I wish them all the best and if one day she does become Queen - great - we need a few more commoners in the royal family! and I think she would make a good queen anyway and keep charles on the straight and narrow!

Yes they did do well and I loved the second outfil!  I think your summary is pretty correct except for one thing - Charles and Camilla fell in love BEFORE she was married.  I believe she married after Charles had gone off with the Navy.  I am assuming that he wasn't allowed to marry her the first time round because she wasn't quite elevated enough  class-wise. How many times do the Royals have to wreck lives before they realise that love is not something you can control and manipulate - if you ever find a soulmate, you are very fortunate and should follow your heart and soul.  Never allow stuffy pointless rules to get in the way!

yes after 55 years I found a soul mate - and jee it feels so good - the second time around can actually be better than the first! - never thought I'd feel 16 at 50!!

I agree with both Garabaldi & Angel, I really enjoyed the Wedding and hope they will be happy. I loved Diana and feel she was just used for providing a son and heir to the throne.  She was not perfect herself, but Charles had this love for Camilla long ago. Yesterday they showed clips of Charles & Diana's wedding and there in the Cathedral sat Camilla. Strange, but true. Angel I agree with you about the second outfit, she looked stunning in that and doing the walkabout with the public was really neat.  I thought the Queen could  have said something to Camilla (or Both) when they came out of the Chapel. At least congratulate them, she never said a word to either of them, at least not while it was on TV.

I wish them luck and hope everything works out for them.  They are really only human beings.!!!

I think one of the commentators summed it up when the said that the Queen can never disguise her true feelings - I don't think she was enjoying one moment of it - here was her son charles marrying a commoner. For the queen it was perhaps the lesser of two evils - either dianne, who she disliked intensely or camilla, who she can perhaps just about tolerate. But you know beyond all of this there is the other factor and that is - you get the kind of kids that you are prepared or not prepared to put the effort into in the early years.

tell me anyone honestly, what effort the queen and prince phillip ever put into the upbringing of Charles or his other siblings - and the results - they speak for themselves a trail of broken marriages - i blame the parent myself!

Not one to name drop, but it was lovely to view the wedding on TV from Houston and see how things are done well, and see my sister in law leading the orchestra.

The orchestra, which is the Philharmonia, weren't at the reception, but they thought it was a lovely day and enjoyed it very much.
