Lily Brooks

Hello everyone!

My grandma was Lily Brooks, she was born in 1890 in Marlborough but unfortunately I cannot find her on the 1901 census so I am wondering if Marlborough was not where her birth would have been registered.  She had an older sister called May and eventually a younger sister called Bessie, we also think there was a son but he died.  Her father was a Lay Preacher in Marlborough and also a bit of a travelling salesman.  Lily spent all her childhood in Marlborough so can anyone help me find the address at which she lived and also can anyone explain why she is not mentioned on any census, neither I may add is May!  I look forward to hearing from anyone who may be able to help.  Thank you

Have you found her on the 1891 census?

There was a Gussie Brooks who lived at 20 George Lane until she died. The bungalow was bought by Albert and Peggy Cripps, possibly 15 or so years ago.

I'll ask around.
