Not sure when my web hosting for this site is due (this year somewhen) but I will not be renewing it........
I just can't find the time to keep the Marlborough site up to date and the costs are going through the roof.....so I think after nearly 13 years it is time to pull the plug. Thanks to everyone for being on here and I will let you all kinow when the time comes.

Rob. I am saddened by your decision to give up this wonderful site. Ever since I was able to I have enjoyed it and all the information both local and historical. I just hope that whomever takes it on, if anyone does, does it with the same vision and Love that you gave it. Thank you for your hard work.
Sad the forums going, but completely understandable. I can appreciate all the hard work, time and money that goes into it and when it's been as quite as it has been in here recently I can see it must get frustrating. Thank you for keeping it going for as long as you have done! Take care.
Im also sorry to hear that the site will be closing Rob. Youve brought Marlborough into the homes of people who dont there for a long time now especially here in the welsh valleys and it will be missed.Many thanks for all your hard work over the years.
The hosting runs out in July so that's when the site will finish......I'll have a look on facebook and see if there is a "Marlborough" page If not I'll start one that way it can be self running and every one can add pictures to it if need be, and have a chat as well

Am sad about this Rob. It's the only totally independent Marlborough website - any chance anyone could take it over from you? What are the costs? Can think of one or two people who might be interested.........
To be honest Val there isn't very much on this site anymore, the costs aren't that bad, about £200 a year but I just don't have the time to devote to it that it deserves and as I need the domain name for my email if anyone wanted to take it over they would have to almost start from scratch. Face book can do exactly the same thing for nothing and everybody can participate, upload photos, news etc. it could be very good for the town ....if and I mean if the town wants it and is willing to keep it going. I think that most town and village sites will go the same way in the future, it's just that I can see the advantages now and it would be "everyones site" not just mine
