Am I the only one with serious concerns over this development on the St. johns Savernake site, don't get me wrong I have nothing against the school going on to one site but with at least 170 houses going up there is very little they are going to do to improve the access to the site (widen it and new road markings) when a roundabout is called for after all there will be in excess of 400 vehicles a day using the road .....my other concern is has Marlborough got the infrastructure to cope with this development we don't have the parking, the shops, or the health service to cope with extra 400-- 500 people plus we still don't have an nhs dentist....plus will the new school have the extra places required to cope with the extra pupils this will generate?
don't just vote on this to get a new school look at the wider picture...if you too have concerns write to kennet now and tell them

I have concerns over the whole "one-site" project. Have we been told the whole truth about what will finally be on both sites? When you ask you are accused of being negative - but never get an answer. Under planning law you can only assess an application of what is being proposed and not on what the proposal may lead to. Therefore developers such as the school will only apply for permission as and when they need it - and lets face it a school on one site is a good idea but have they been honest about their full intentions? I was talking to a teacher at the school on Friday who said that they need to sell land for 300 houses to pay for the project. Was he telling the truth? Sadly our conversation was curtailed before more questions could be asked.
The saga of the Chopping Knife Lane site keeps running and the longer it does the more houses they try to squeeze on. Sadly Two Jags will approve anything these days so prepare yourself for the worse.
As for the new site do you think the school have been totally honest about their total plans? Why couldn't they move the buildings a little to satisfy their neighbours? Will the sale of the CKL site be enough to fund the new development or will they have to sell some land on the Cherry Orchard site for yet more housing to fund the shortfall?
BTW have you noticed that if the new Pewsey Road access was continued on to new Salisbury Road roundabout (which parents will insist it does after the new school opens) - and the road on the White Elephant Industrial Estate was continued on to the A4 - we would have a bypass! Now try to convince me that WCC have not realised the same and that one day it will not happen.
I am sure the full facts haven't been published I went to see the "display" put on at CLK it was very selective you only saw what they wanted you see....and again any other questions were fielded away so professionally any politician would have been proud....funny thing though if you follow the logical route of the road it comes out at the bottom of CLK now isn't that strange!!! Oh and yes there is already a shortfall the CLK development will not pay for the new school by quite a large margin
