Hello to everyone on this forum - I have just joined. After many years of researching my family tree I have found that I have connections to Marlborough on both my maternal and paternal sides of the family. Leaving the maternal to one side can anyone tell me where the Kings Arms Hotel in Marlborough is or was. My great aunt once ran in circa 1910 with her husband a James Best Elliott both whom originated from the Dorset area. If anyone can offer any info on this I would be very grateful. I am also happy to attach a photo should anyone need to see one of the Kings Arms in 1910 when the family were running it. Thanks to all Clalou.
Hi I am Pretty certain the Kings arms was/is in Kingsbury street, if you could send a picture to me by email I will be able to match it up and maybe find another picture as well. ( I collect photos/postcards of Marlborough) If it is this one then it was first opened in 1659 and closed in 1912
